Strong Possibility Of More Than 2 MW2 Map Packs
Yesterday we wrote about Activision’s plans for Modern Warfare 2 DLC…
Activision – “We plan to launch two separate map packs for this title. Map packs help extend the shelf life of the franchise, as evidence by the strong catalog sales and premium pricing that we maintained a year and a half after launch.”
This led to some confusion that only two map packs would be released for the game. But now, Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling is clarifying that statement saying that while only two maps are planned, there is still a possibility for more.
Infinity Ward – “As far as DLC goes, we love it and plan to support ‘Modern Warfare 2′ heavily with post-launch support. We’ve confirmed we’ll be doing AT LEAST two map packs which were announced at E3 as a timed exclusive for Xbox 360. The fact that we confirmed at least two map packs doesn’t mean there won’t be more; honestly we plan on shaping our DLC based on community feedback from the full game, and first two DLC map packs. Therefore, the community will really determine what comes after that.”
Sounds like Modern Warfare 2 will be a more give-and-take experience with the fans, and that it’ll be up to them what sort of content should be included in future DLC. Quite a shift from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which had just the one map pack. The big question is, after Activision said at E3 that the first two map packs will be Xbox Timed Exclusive, will this apply to any further DLC?
Also, new map pack is out on XBOX on June 3rd. No news for PS3 yet.

I just want IW to enable the party chat system to be available for TD I’m tired of hearing all the idiots and underage kids playing MW2. And a weapons pack would be nice

5 completely new levels would be good – a multi storey car park would be good. in addition to some new game types…what about Michael Myers?

Okay this may not help but.. I really liked cage matches..so if you could just put them back into the game i mean so what if everybody uses them to boost some a lot of people don’t besides if it makes the game users happy who cares they boosted there guns at least they didn’t boost there whole prestige?!? Also i love the new maps the are fantastic! I would love for the to make just a downloadable content for new weapon colors, and a expansion of the main story.

well first off how do we let infinity ward know bout our ideas n such?
cause like many others i think that there should be weapon packs for download, of coarse new maps( every month would be great but lets not get pushy). and the cod 4 maps where is backlot, crossfire and district those where my personal 3 favs on cod4. and just a thought but how about some kind of extra multiplayer game mode like nazi zombies on WAW? not the same thing of coarse..but it would be nice to have something additional to play like that. but mainly my thing is weapon packs for download..that would be amazing and im hoping infinity ward listens to the ppl bout this. but please god dont fill the weapon packs with 300 f**kin sniper rifles or rocket launchers..ppl r so gay with that s**t.

@DrJme88, yes there is… all the cod 4 ones are on the disc. my friend has got a ps3 disc opener on his computer and i have found all cod 4 maps on the mw2 cd… something i am annoyed about is that in spec ops and campaign you can get secondary weapon camos… the dragunov sniper, another shotgun and another pistol… why not put them in multiplayer?? this is why i think iw and treyarch are fools, and should listen to their fans and players and not make stupid decisions.

What would be awesome would be quickscope and michael myers where u actually lvl up. Ive played those with my friends for hours and hours having way more fun than getting spawn noob tubed in a normal match. More camos wouldnt hurt just add like five new camos too the next Dlc. Secondary camos should be there because I didnt hack so i should get rewarded with secodary camos. I shouldnt have two die from red tiger akimbo rangers when i cant even get that. DlC from cod4 should work for Mw2. So there should be a free update where u get those four maps with MW2 lighting and stuff. Cage match getting removed suks bec now ill never get 40 fmj kills bec i dont want to use a gun for that long. By removing cage match theres more boosting in games that affect everybody. Cage match boosting only affects that one person. With that removed I have to waste my time going to the back of Derail to kill boosters or repeatedly die from a chopper gunner from a guy boosting headshots. Not very smart to remove, bring it back. Now those are all miner things to this next idea. If Iw was to add mercenary domination i would be so happy. 7 out of 10 matches my best teammate is 8 and 27 and I die from killstreaks because the other team is a squad of six working together. If there was to be no parties in a domination game mode I would have so much more fun while playing. Those are my ideas

they need to add the following in one or more DLC: crossfire and backlot from MW1. new wepons (really hoping for an AK-74 and not gay noob tubes). new game modes including an official michael meyers and a non hacked global thermonuclear war, where u receive exp for both. And the last one and most anticipated by many, ALIEN TERRISTS!!! OMFG MAKE ALL READY IFINITY WARD!

My opinion on these map packs is that it will work like it did for halo 2 and halo 3 for the xbox.
The map will be available for purchase for a while, but eventually they will become free. And my supporting idea behind this is as follows:
When IW added the new pack, it removed some of the less popular gametypes in order to make room for the stimulous pack. They cannot continue to remove popular gametypes and add Map Pack specific types forever. And they are bound to piss a few people off if they remove a gametype that may not have a ton of people, but has some very dedicated players, like myself and all of my friends list with Capture the Flag. never more then like 800 people playing it, but we all play for many hours. Also, the community WANTS to be able to play those maps from the stimulus and the new one with their regular choice of gametypes, like CTF, DOM, DEM, SAB, and so on, without having to chose one that could be any of them.
Also I play for PC, and just played for the first time on xbox last week, and found to my great surprise they already removed CTF!!! That was very disheartening for me. If they are smart, eventually these packs will become free so they no longer need to sections for the maps, JUST LIKE HALO. Wait and see! I will not pay for these packs ever, would rather wait for COD:BO

They should deffinantly make a weapons pack but do put snipers more like the the M110,SR25,SAKO TRG 42, and my personal favorite M4OA3.. but dont bring no gay stuff like grenade lauchers and RPG form weapons they are really gay!! Bring back backlot and crossfire good maps ..Also make any new maps look actually wore torn like in COD 4 it makes gameplay better. For Assault rifles bring the G36K back!!!

ok I think that they should bring Pipeline back, I loved it, also if you want a map like an old oil rig go play world at war, and I also think that they should make a team based game where sniping is baned, I have played so many games that my team loses because the people on my team dont help they just sit back and snipe, and I agree bring back the G36K that gun is Murder ready, and they should make a fully active invironment map where not mattter what you do it will effect if your team wins or looses, and bring all the maps from call of duty 4 back they were beast
