What was once a bold and exciting venture into Infinity Ward’s definitive new first person shooter has turned into a gigantic gangbang of glitches, cheaters and hackers.
Here is a humorous, but pretty accurate, typical game flow chart. It details the steps we have to go through on a daily basis just to play a decent game of Modern Warfare 2 online.

you would think with the money this game has made they could fix any problem in short order. glitching. lost party and the leaderboards are the big issues for me.

@Chris, they’re already patched most of the current glitches, but its taking FOREVER for it to get past testing for Xbox and PS3. (it’s patched on PC).

@Auptyk, not true at all, they IW has no CEO or Vice President, things are a little chaotic. is the game getting to be bulls**t? yes. Blame Activision. I have yet to see them do one thing correctly, besides guitar hero.

@iconicchronic, Guitar Hero is a terrible example of what Activison is doing “right” they are running that franchise into the ground. They same that they will do with CoD. Regardless of whether Activison or IW is more to blame is irrelevant as IW is now simply and arm of Activison and has ceased to be their own company. This is obvious from certain choices they have made in the game.

@cod4isepic, It looks like a sick game but do you think that IW would care if they lost all their customers now? Maybe they wouldnt sell DLC but would that really matter to them at this point?

I know for PC dedicated servers would fix a bunch of that stuff… but that isnt going to happen ever. They need more user control like vote kick hackers vote new host ect. I played both CoD4 and CoD:WaW and basically only heard of hackers… or if there was one they were gone within a minute because an admin would kick them. That one reason alone (which they never address) makes dedicated servers better for everyone even the n00b entry level gamer.
Also based on little things like this and peoples comments I think the maturity level of Console gamers vs PC gamers is amazing. Console gamers (not all just seems to be a lot) seem to be idiots. I have over 5 days of gameplay and think I have only had to mute 2 or 3 people and for none of the reasons listed above.

@Auptyk, Dude, I know what you mean. I’m an Xbox owner and ex PC gamer, and I think there’s the same number of sane people on consoles and PC, it’s just that a lot of people you’d want to stay away from pick a console for their gaming entertainment lol.

Lol, I’ve just pre-ordered BC2. This just goes to show why it is a PRETTY GOOD IDEA to have a beta.
And I think it’s obvious EA took a hint and had a beta for BC2, they’re even balancing out BC2 even when it’s only the demo, lol.

u’r so right m8. not that it matters anyway. but at least now we know why iw and acti like each other so well, they both want money and nothing else. and now that they have them, ah well, we won’t hear from them ever again.

One thing that really bothers me about IW is their lack of “community”. 402 is good and all but if you compare MW2′s updates and such with any other game, we are completely left in the dark. It seems that IW thinks they can tweet a single update per month and keep everyone happy.
We are now at 4 months since release and we haven’t heard anything about DLC (402 once mentioned Titles and Emblems as DLC but that’s about it). We know the maps packs are coming, but yet they haven’t mentioned anything other than Spring 2010. Hell, BFBC2 is already discussing DLC and will have free and paid on day one. Will I go to BFBC2? Hell no. I’d just like a little more support from IW.
Is it because they are swimming in money like Scrooge McDuck? Probably. Seriously, they sold like 4.7 million copies in 24 hours. Keep your effing customers up to date regarding your glitched ass game.

IW does care about its customers seing as how there will most likely be another MW game however Microsoft with their s**tty mikes that always seem to break so you have to buy more and their faulty equipment that makes you purchase the parts needed (which for some reason cost more than the original product) takes their sweet*** time approving all the patches that IW comes out with, and all the while us legit players that DONT exploit glitches have to put up with all this crap when all we wanna do is play the game and thats only if the stars align just right and the polar axis’ tilt to the right degree. I dont blame IW I say **** YOU to MICROSOFT FOR MAKING FAULTY HARDWARE AND NOT GIVING A RATS *** ABOUT US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well MW2 is the biggest and best selling game ever. which is awesome for the video game culture. but in selling the most games you have a ton of little butt munchers who want to f*** around the whole time instead of playing the game. i do agree on implementing a system to kick hackers or douche bags. microsoft is a pain to get anything okayed through which is why it has taken forever for this patch to be actually passed and put in the game. IW, just keep listening to the community. Community stop whining and realize how big this game is and find a crap ton of friends online so you can stay away from the 11 year old barney loving fags.

Beautiful description of my nights gaming with my friends, whom all happen to be MW2 addicts. Its ridiculous honestly, trying to get into a good game with 2 friends doesn’t seem hard but when you get down to trying it you have no chance of getting in. We eventually give up and go on Fifa or something lol

its fine on ps3, on ur friends list u can just press join and u pretty much get in instantly, not many hackers and boosters only in ffa. the matchmaking isnt as good as cod 5 but what it seems to do is search for the better connection games first and there isnt really any games under 100 ms ping so u have to wait until u get above that to get into a game. only takes 2-3 minutes

1. game was released waaaaaaaaay too early for all the features it has
2. you unlock the scar first which is nearly the best gun in the game and at least 4x better than the F2000
3. wtf happened to the AK.
4. a feature that would be awesome in this game is when you pick your assault rifle you should be able to pick
1] Full-Auto
2] 3 round burst
3] Semi-Auto
but either way the only way this game is enjoyable is in domination where most everyone is 1st prestige or lower.

I will never buy another title associated with Infinity Ward. Even the name sounds like a special place in the nut house for those with no hope of recovery.
