Overwatch AC-130 Special Ops Video
Here is the very first footage of one of the twenty three co-op Spec Ops missions we have to look forward to. This mission is called “Overwatch” and involves one player controlling the AC-130 and the other on the ground calling in shots. Rain fiery death down upon the enemy in Overwatch, the AC-130 Spec Ops mission.

Is anyone else very strongly reminded of that level where you are the SAS and your helicopter gets shot down in the first act? The maps seem very similar…

I wonder what benefits the laser would have in the MP. Because its not like it will help much with hip fire and certainly not down the sights. Plus it gives away your position all the time. Guess it could help in 3rd person, but that’s it. Does anyone know if it’s even in the MP?

@K1, It could help at hip fire, because you know where the gun is exactly pointing, but I understand your point, because in the campaign mission in COD4 the hip fire was easy to use, just point and shoot, and I could kill people from 30-50 ft. with the M4. That is how it worked in COD4, maybe it is how it will work in MW2.

The reason for a laser is not only for heightened aiming.
Officially they are used as laser designators for the AC-130 or more regularly, Apaches to aquire targets and bring air support to exact enemy locations where they may be behind cover and also to avoid friendly fire in hot situations (although there are still blue on blue casualties) where the friendly units are not distinguishable by infra-red beacon strobes.
When played on veteren without name tags displayed I bet the laser designator will be a god send.
By the way i actually cannot wait for midnight in three days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
