It’s a shame that the Modern Warfare 2 map packs don’t arrive on all platforms at the same time, but hey, in the words of Tupac – that’s just they way it is. Well, as of today, at least nobody is in the dark about the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Pack PS3 and PC release date.
Infinity Ward’s Creative Strategist announced just moments ago that the Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence pack will arrive on the PS3 (US) and PC (Worldwide) on July 6th. EU Playstation gamers, you’ll have to wait one more day (July 7th) to get your hands on the Resurgence Pack.

@Ulysses S. Grant, That’s why the game won plenty of awards and has made millions and millions of dollars. You may not like it, but there are a s**t ton of people that like it more than those that don’t.

@quanx22, Yeah I believe so. If that was the stimulus price then that is what this will cost. I didn’t buy the last pack, I was told it was a waste of money, I’m waiting for the new original maps

The 1st Pack wasnt a waste but it was not as good as i thought
Salvage was great fast paced action with good(but not extremely effective sometimes) flanks and great environment variations that is great for run-and-gun, sniping, and unfortunatley camping.
Storm is large with almost few truly spectacular features other that you can spawn outside the map if on one team and it makes a great sniping point until you get caught. the map can be confusing at times and is hard to move very long distances without bieng sniped or caught with a claymore(very frequently)
Bailout is somewhat similar to Crash, in my opinion. Both have large open spaces between buildings and both can be used to snipe or run and gun which allows for easy change from one style to another to surprise, counter, or match enemies.
So altogether the map pack is good, but not great. I just wrote this for people who dont have Map Pack 1 but are thinking About getting it, Also to voice my opinion. I left out Crash And Bailout because if you follow Call of Duty you should already know them well.

Why release the map pack on July 6th??? Would it kill them to let us have it on July 3rd so we can at least have the holiday weekend to play COD until dawn??????

@Emily, the reason for releasing it on July 6th is because of it being a Tuesday. With most games, movies and music, release dates are on Tuesdays. Every now and then things are released on a different day but it is normally a Tuesday. I agree with you though that it would have been awesome to be able to play the new maps all weekend

I did the MW2 update today, but no resurgence maps on the PSNetwork yet. I believe they update the store around 1800EST, so look for them then.

I’m in TX and I still can’t dwnld the maps. But when I check online to see how many people are playing its like 21 people playing on the new maps. Don’t know what thats about

Peter, I’ve got the same issue. Paid the price, got the maps, when the map loads it all craps out and I get two windows: 1) is the game itself and the 2) is an error, but no details are included because it’s behind the black screen of death window (see point 1) )

I’m having the same problem. I have crashed out of the game every time I try to play one of the new maps with an error message. But when I force exit the game, the error message goes away. So I don’t even get a change to figure out whats going wrong.

Got the same problem. When I join a resurgence-lobby, i get the map loading screen, but instead of the regular picture of the map i get a purple and black checkered thumbnail, which disappears after less then an second. After that, mw2 crashes, giving me an error i cant read because of the “evil black screen” (:P)
In short: I cant play the new maps, not even in an private match. I’m running the game on vista 64 bit system, and i’ve never had problems with mw2 before. I just hope they’ll fix it soon….

I downloaded the the pack for the PC and am crashing also with an ERROR. I would suggest holding off on purchasing. I can’t play any of the new maps.

The problem is that Valve ♥♥♥♥ed up, steam doesn’t download the actual maps but allows you to access them, restart steam, goto library, right click MW2 mp, turn off the keep updated thingy, turn back on, if nothing happens after a moment, goto downloads tab and press the resume all, thats when it for me steam realized “oh wait! i no has dawnlawds des mawps!”

yep just switch the “keep this game updated” off restart steam then switch the updates back on . then go to downloads and it will start and download the maps 355.6mb.

Hi, i’ve downloaded these maps but after i install it, nothing changed to my bonus map section in the game ??? .

Hello,
I wanted to know if there will be a third map pack coming out this year. People found some maps called vertigo, oilrig and gulag. So, are they coming out ?
Besides that I had an idea for the game (future call of duty games). You can actually choose the skin of your gun, but what about the player ? I think it’d be really sweet if you could choose the color of your camo – so that you can actually match it up with your gun. It’s just a random idea so think about it.
