MW2 Prestige Cheaters To be Suspended
It’s a shame that Modern Warfare 2 has been rife with hackers, glitchers, cheaters, boosters, mods, and all sorts of unscrupulous goings-on virtually since release. Even worse is the fact that nothing seems to be done about it by the powers that be (a patch that takes weeks to be certified just leaves the problems to fester).
One problem that has been prevalent is modded ‘10th Prestige Lobbies’ which enables users who join one of these special lobbies to get an enormous amount of points-per-kill and reach 10th prestige within a matter of a few games.
Well, this news from XBOX Live head of Policy and Enforcement, Stephen Toulouse AKA ‘The Pro’, is music to our ears. In a post on the official Xbox forums The Pro addresses the cheaters with a clear message that people who have obtained prestige in Modern Warfare 2 illegitimately, will be given suspensions from Xbox Live. The guys running these lobbies will be permanently banned.
The Pro – “ATTENTION MW2 CHEATERS (and you know who you are)
People who have obtained prestige illegitimately, will be given suspensions. People soliciting other people to gain prestige (whether for free, or for points) will be permanently suspended.
To all those users who are attempting to play MW2 without cheating, please have faith. Hang in there, because the cheaters are being caught and the game will be patched.
p.s., it doesn’t matter if you gained 10th prestige, 2nd, or 1st: illegitimate gameplay = suspension”
That’s awesome news in many people’s books. It may also stop the spam 10th prestige lobby invite threads we keep getting on the forums (and swiftly deleting I might add) and over Xbox Live.
Maybe the fact that this guy admits to getting 10th prestige in a modded lobby and swiftly gets suspended shows that Microsoft are serious about clearing up Modern Warfare 2.
If you get invited to a modded lobby over Xbox Live be sure to report the user and lets wait and see if the cheaters start dropping from the system.
@a father, unfortunately things like that happen, it is as if your son was talking to strangers. You are quite lucky though becuase qnother thing people like that do is ask for your password so they can make you prestige, when they do this they can steal your xbox points and maybe money ( I don’t fully know due to the fact I have a ps3 and they are safer). On ps3 mw2 there are also alot of 10th prestigers that clearly hacked but I myself ha e never seen any body do the care package glitch!! I know if can be done becuz iv seen it being done on utube, no, but the annoying thing I often see is flashbang boosting and claymore boosting. There Is a glitch (not a hack) where you can shoot won flashbangs and ti’s etc. The thing I now enjoy is killing nuke boosters becuz I know where they hide’!! It’s all the places you wudnt normally go!! Simples!! But I just think to myself, killing nuke oosters is practicly a way of me boosting my score and kills. So what’s the point playing the game after you’ve all said. Boosting is bad. Get what I mean? Owning everyone in a game is basicly boosting to you guys. I guess some of us on here are just good at the game…

when are these 10 prestigers going to get banned i dont think they have done it on 360 yet cuase my friend got 10th prestige no legit and he is still 10th prestige i would like to know when this is going to into effect cuase i want him suspended

I say leave them in for a number of reasons.
1. There’s nothing nicer then kicking there arse and proving in every game they are cheats (these fools normally end up at the bottom of the team every game anyway)
2. It will soon dawn on them that they have nothing left to get now they are at the very top with no where to go.
Already we are seeing rank 3,4,5,6 in a lot of games telling me they are already getting board and starting new profiles so they can rank up again.

Cheaters are ignorant, slimy, weak minded puss-filled balls of dung and the majority of the world hates you to the depths of their very souls. @MH, You are completely wrong about “cheaters”, I feel that “Modder” is more suitable. We most certainly are the complete opposite of ignorant and slimy, not to mention far from weak minded. We modify as a hobby, not to be ignorant. For you, playing the game is fun, for us finding exploitable points in the code that runs the game itself, “hacking” as you may call it, is fun. And yes it makes people angry, we may be hated, but we are not idiots. It’s not easy to do what we do, so don’t pretend as if we are the unintelligent ones.

the cheating def affects us. i paid my money for the game just like you did. so when your using fully automatic rpg’s or the all too popular FAL full auto and you go tearing through people, that sortof wrecks the game for the rest of us. I hope amazing brain can grasp that. the game is fun if you compete, and if you cant hang with the rest of us who play right then go buy super mario or something.

You know that is true i`m a legit 8th 70 and i see no problem with 10th prestigers… I`ve got a moded name and all and i still get that buzz from everyone like i`m such a hacker… I think that people need to lay off and mind their own buisness every once in a while… And i wish microsoft would lay off much more i can`t count the number of times i`ve been banned because of ” system tampering ” with a moded gamertag and i think it`s a bunch of bull… And if microsft thinks that they can stop this too late, its already part of the game and if you can`t deal with it without crying don`t play it and if you think i`m right well than congrats! your more mature than all the others…

@mitchell865, I agreed with your first statement but then your reply pissed me off. First off- ps3 has nothing better than the 360 except for blue Ray discs and M.A.G. So get over yourself, you’re no better. Second, being better than others in one match proves nothing. You get to the top of the leaderboardas legitimately, unlike the first 1,000 or so, then you can talk. Third, for everyone, ignore the cheaters. All that is proven when someone cheats is that they aren’t good enough to get there on pure skill. Over and out.

Your cheating personality will not even allow you to take the time to use proper spelling and sentence structure because you are used to taking the easy route. @Gamer forums, truee that, but how will they know whos cheating??? im not a cheater, i love the hell out of this game, im only a 1st prestige but worked to get it, i dont want to be called a cheater one day just because i reach 10th prestige, people will never know all the hard work i put to make it that far, so basically it looks like the whole ban thing will be a massive assumption of who is and isnt cheating. however, in a game where i say an ac130 out of nowhere, not even 2 min. in the game, it becomes obvious.. i hate hackers

So all modders are bad then? I play in multiple gaming leauges, I rank well, but I modded tenth so I didn’t have to play public with the 10 year olds that populate the game. I needed the classes because of a tournament that was coming up, I was already 9th 70 legit, but I couldn’t Take the garbage campers that a majority of you pussies are, so I modded up. Does that change the fact that 9/10 times I can beat your ass in a 1v1 only quick scoping? No, it doesn’t why don’t you guys use logic, because a lot of modders don’t play public and only play clan matches/private games. You guys should get out of your basements and branch out instead of being biased and stereotypical little pricks.

So let me get this straight, camping/ambushing is bad, but quick scoping is ok….Have you ever been in real combat? The last time I checked sniping, ambush & defending a fixed position, all camping, are legitimate military tactics. This is a military combat game is it not. Hackers are cheats & deserve whatever they get. If they are willing to hack a video game who’s to say they won’t do something else.

Seriously, Nothing will stop these people, they get stronger by the day, and no matter what, they’ll find a way to mod anything that has something to do with xbox and its fellow Live. These kids know what they’re doing. It may not be right to do it, but they’re getting money out of it. Its like playing a video game as a job. Either way, they still win, They have the modding equipment thats probably homemade and never heard of. On youtube, people create lag switches, they mod xBox and ps3 remotes, xBox 360’s and Ps3’s ,hack accounts, what’s the point? The next Call Of Duty Black Ops will probably be a mod attractor if they can create higher prestige’s or unlimited prestige’s ( which sounds stupid to put in a blog ). Hopefully we can just forget about this and live our lives watching these horrible kids destroy our gaming network which used to be the most safest and reliable system on the planet. Oh man, I’ve been bugging fourzerotwo and majornelson on Twitter for weeks because the amount of cheaters/hackers/glitchers/modders is out of control. I’m glad I’m still filing complaints against every single person I come across that either cheated their way to 10th Prestige or sends a voice/text message to join one of their no-talent loser lobbies. Unforunately, this means I’m filing complaints almost as much as I’m actually playing (I report 20+ cheaters a day, I’d say).

usaully my friends have the speed hack n i leave n i forget i have it but i didnt hack or modded im legit cause its from my friends n we get out of the map in a private match like i joined one day a global thermonuclear war lobby left then i had so im instent but i dont care about hackers unless they hack accounts but if they hack themselfs im alright about it cause i know they cant beat me 1 vs 1 and im 3rd prestige legit 27 nukes legit but modds need to get out but whats wrong with glitching out of the map if your not hurting anyone in a private match only thing wrong is modds n hacking accounts

Me and my friend put it on our bio saying we could do this but we really don’t do it we just say sorry, you’re trying to cheat, and then we kick them from the party and file complaints on them.
