V. Class Creation
A. The Purpose of Custom Classes
Custom Classes are the best thing to happen to First Person Shooters in a long time. They go well beyond the normal scope of weapon and equipment selection, allowing for your character to move, shoot, stab, breathe, and survive exactly how you want.
With that in mind, the best thing you can do is customize your classes to fit your playing style. For instance, I rarely use the sniper rifles. For sniping I use the FAL Assault Rifle with an ACOG or Thermal Scope. Why? Because I am as accurate with the FAL as with the Barrett and I can stay on the move the entire time. Since I’m a run-and-gunner I prefer to keep moving. It keeps monotony to a minimum and doesn’t allow for others to find my hiding spot and search me out.
The important thing to remember when creating your classes is make sure they suit you. Embrace your strengths and use the available equipment, weapons, and perks to exploit them. Oh yeah, and have fun.
B. Class Creation 101
As I said before, you want to build a class that suits your playing style. I’ll give you some basic outlines for creating your classes.

Primary Weapons: Assault Rifles or Light Machine Guns
Secondary Weapons: Machine Pistols
Equipment: Frag Grenades or Semtex
Perk 1: Sleight of Hand or Scavenger until you unlock more than 1 attachment
Perk 2: Stopping Power (Not in Hardcore matches)

Close Quarters 101:

Perk 1: Marathon
Perk 2: Cold-Blooded
Perk 3: Ninja Pro

C. Gameplay Style and Custom Classes
So I’ve given you some basic classes to use, but you might still be wondering what type will fit you best. It is fairly straight forward, but here are my suggestions.
Run-and-Gun: Assault 101, Knifing 101, and Close Quarters 101. Stealth 101 might also work here.
Sniping: Sniping 101 and possibly Stealth 101.
Camping: Sniping 101, Stealth 101, and possibly Assault 101 if you think you can survive everyone knowing your location.
Melee: Knifing 101 and Assault 101 with the Riot Shield.

Where are the shotguns? They are by far the best weapons in the game especially the model 1887.

@admin, Okay, you do not put Marathon or Bling on a sniper class, the only sniper you should have Bling on is the M21 EBR. You should put sleight of hand!

@Austin, austin are you serious? Have you ever fired a real shotgun? I think they are UNDER POWERED in this game….The 870 I have will make 4 inch groups at 120 yards with sabot slugs.

@Austin, they are not over-powerful, they work fine because of there limited range. But yes, if it wasn’t a video game shotguns would be underpowered because EGCxVICIOUS is right.

@Austin, Na there great..best shot gun by far is the striker with the fore grip, because it has the farthest range the grip makes good accuracy the fire rate is really good, by far the best HAHA!
Very good article, this guy knows his stuff, I’ve played with him online a few times and he knows how to gun.

Perhaps its just my playstile, but I never use Bling, except as a way to unlock attachments faster, such as getting credit for the HBsensor and Holo-sight at the same time, other than that, i’d never use Bling. Sure, its useful, but with the ironsights generally being good in MW2, i dont need a sight, and can easily get away with only 1 attachment. I reccommend Scavenger as perk 1. Effectively you have infinate ammo, equipment, toobs, etc. Perhaps, though, for those who have a run-and-gun playstile, where you die often enough, ammo wouldnt be an issue, but I tent to ninja it a bit more, so I get big killstreaks to the point where my SCAR will actually run straight out of ammo without scavenger. Even for runners, spraying off rounds might make you consider the “you have infinate everything” perk as well.

@Shadowshear, I actually find Bling really useful for sniping – I often use a silencer and either the thermal or acog… I stick mostly to hardcore so the added advantage of not letting your position known is vital (the silencer also dampens the kickback when you fire giving you a better chance of a second shot). Scavenger isn’t very useful if you’re not moving

@Shadowshear, I also agree with your comment on “Bling” perk. Using this i cant have my “Slight of Hand”! There are much better 1st perks you could use, I suggest “Slight of Hand” or “Marathon”.
Hope this comment helps you all!

for knifing 101 u need a pistol with tac knife! the class has its own destinct playing style, but IMO is most fun in MW2

If you are sniping, final stand is a great death streak, especially if you stink, if you survive your bleed out (which can happen if you get sniped yourself) you stand back up.

@Connor, I agree with your statement, but the problem with that is wen you get sniped from your enemy, you usually get headshot. I would also warn for all you snipers out there is to go prone every-time you shoot to reload!! Doing this you will prevent getting counter-shot from your enemy. The perks I suggest for sniping are “Slight of Hand”, “Stopping Power” and “Steady Aim”
Hope these tips help you!

Scavenger is the best perk you can use you can never run out of ammo bling is a terrible perk when you run out of ammo you have to change to your secondary weapons and you get killed easier because you cant shoot as many bullets back with the secondary because the fire rate is small if you use scavenger if you run out of bullets for your primary weapon you just need to go over to a dead body and you get extra ammo.

i disagree with your choice for secondarys.
on my sniper class i use dual magnums or dual m9s. because if u hear someone coming towards you they have the fastest weapon change and the are very accurate.
and i use sleight of hand because i quick scope mutch better and i cn reload my secondarys fast

personally i would preferr for a running class (knifing) i would use pain killer because it gives you that little extra to run out there and get a knife kill if you have died so many times, unless of course you go god mode when you run around knifing people. but yeah pain killer is a great way to stay alive for alittle bit longer to get that extra knife kill. i use it and it works great =} but yes final stand works or martyrdom… but for those of you running class lovers try painkiller lol.

I haven’t seen ONE person mention the SITREP perk…It is SO useful,
A- You don’t run into enemy devices.
B- You can call out enemy devices to your teammates.
C- If you earn the pro version, enemy footsteps become louder….If you have beaches your are in heaven. I.E I can hear Ninja Pro without a problem.
however you sound like a moose and will appear on the baby monitors…But then again if you are rushing on search you should get to your position quickly and not have to worry about getting sound w***ed. Not many ppl use HB sensors on HC search anyways.

What I like to do is call in a carepackage and stick C4 to it. usually if you wait a few seconds an enemy will come up on it and boom the problem is is that it will atrract more people but if you don’t want or don’t need the reward (ammo for instance) you can just wait and kill.

my favorite class is:
Acr+ silencer
S-pas + Grip.
Semtex + Stun
Scavenger-pro
Cold-blooded
Ninja-Pro
“Acr” will give you a head shot as a piece of cake from any distance!
with scavenger-pro you’ll be able 2 have enough bullets 2 get kill-streaks,
& with silencer+coldblooded+ninja you’ll make all campers 2 run!!!
my rank is about 600 in PSN.( & I’m not a hacker!!:( )
Also for snipe, i think its better 2 use FMJ + Akimbo raffica slight of hand + cold-blooded+ steady Aim.

Secondary: SPAS 12
Attachments: Silencer
