- Rust – Tiny desert sandstorm. Fast-paced action on a small map.
- Scrapyard – Small airplane gravelyard. Great for any number of players.
- Skidrow – Urban city fighting. In and out of apartments close range engagements.
- Sub Base – Snowy submarine base. Great vertical gameplay.
- Terminal – Medium sized airport. Great for all game modes.
- Underpass – Rainy underpass. Good balance of medium to long range fighting.
- Wasteland – Chernobyl in the open. Great for snipers and long range fighters.

I dont think these are real. I saw a youtube video that listed the maps and the description of them, It was a guy that was at E3. I cant find the video, but some of the maps i remember are Tranquil and Chinatown. I know that the maps he listed are real because he was right about favela afgan and highrise, And that was before those 3 maps were revealed at the Multilayer demo.
Tranquil is a map thats very, well tranquil. It has green houses a stream and tons of flowers, its a smaller map. This map can be seen in one of the reveal trailers so i know its true.
Chinatown is the same chinatown that was in modern warfare 1. Except There is now a added tower thats good for sniping.
I also remember this one map where it takes place in a sewer under ground. Im not sure what it was called. But the guy that published the video said that this map was unconfirmed for some reason. He said its completely different then every map in any call of duty.
Another one was One thats similar to dome in WaW. It was called Stadium i think. I takes place in a sports stadium.
There are tons more, but i cant remember all of them. The ones you have are wrong, where did you find them? Im am almost completely sure that the video was all real because of how he was right about those 3 maps, And how i saw tranquil on one of the trailers. I will try to find the video and show you it.

But there terminal map is most likely real because there is going to be a map with a airport. But i dont know if its called terminal.
And the sub base one might be real too because i remember one that was like sub pens in WaW.
There are probably more maps that you listed that are real, but you definitely forgot some.

I still can’t figure out why some people are disappointed about not having any CoD4 maps in this game? Are you serious? There’s a reason this game has a different title: it’s a new freakin’ game. If you really like the maps that much, you can just as easily stick the CoD4 game disc back in the tray.
Besides, if they really think it’s necessary to include old popular maps from their old games, they’ll do so in a map pack release. I still say that’s stupid though, and I’m willing to bet they don’t. There are many reasons why it be cool, but I say: leave the past, in the past.

A lot of developers take their existing maps/tracks and update them.
Add foilage, move certain items, close certain doors, open others..
I would love it if Overgrown came with MW2, one of my favorite maps..
change?, why not fill the dry river with water.. destroy the covered bridge, blow up the farm area..

ONLY 16! This better not be ALL of them! A IW member said that there would be more maps at launch then CoD 4 (over 21) in a interview. If this is all of them, then they’re totally being cheap like Tryarch by pulling maps out for DLC. They’re probably using Special-Op as their excuse.

@bearsbullssox that vid and the other one you saw are total crap, they mention places that dont even fall into the story line like a paris map. and a swampy map in the middle east. swamps need alot of water to thrive and the middle east gets like maybe a couple inches a year so that horse **** and trust me i would know my uncle spent a 2 year tour in iraq.

Not enough maps at all. WAW has like double that. The only reason they are doing this is cuz they know they can just hold on to a buch of other maps like cuvetous jews and collect our little $10 (800 ms points) further down the road with some DLC. I’m sure they will at least match WAW with 3 map packs. But if they want my money those map packs better include something along the line of a new spec ops level in the same way WAW did with the zombie maps which got better each time there was one released…and I was glad to hand over my ten bucks. Those zombie maps for the thirty bucks i spent have prolly got more hours logged on them than any $60 game i have ever bought outside of a COD title. Most games I play beat and trade in with the exclusion of COD titles and sports games cuz COD is a game you can play forever. MW1 came out over two years ago and the servers are still full! Name one game you bought two years ago that you still play or can find anyone playing online. Only one i think i fight night round 3 but now that 4 is out that window is slowly fading. Til’ Nov. 10…CHEERS MATES!

i hope that these maps are really small because i like small maps, or they can be long for sniping, but i absolutely hate huge maps with little combat areas because its so big you can never find anyone, just like that map in WAW with the church in the middle, i forgot the name
