Modern Warfare 2 DLC Xbox Exclusive For 30 Days
Back in June at E3 ‘09, five months before the game was even released, Microsoft announced that the first two Modern Warfare 2 map packs would be “timed exclusive” for the Xbox 360 (the Xbox would get the map packs for a limited time before other systems). What Microsoft didn’t mention was how long the Xbox would have the exclusivity deal for… until now.
The first Modern Warfare 2 downloadable content will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 for 30 days. Speaking to Eurogamer, a Microsoft spokesperson had this to say..
“We have a 30-day timed exclusive on the Modern Warfare content packs, so it will be available on other platforms, but you get to try and play on Xbox 360 first.”
The first Modern Warfare 2 map pack is due to be released this spring but an exact date has yet to be locked down. That clears that up!

@ps3, not really, if you go to modernwarfare24/7, it has comparisons of screenshots between the 360 and the PS3, and Xbox is a clear winner. (Hate to burst your bubble)

I own both PS3 and 360 and the fact is that PS3 is the superior system. It does 1920×1080 and 60fps, 360 does 1920×1080 24fps. 360 maximum disc size is 8.5GB, dual sided 17GB. As apposed to PS3 Bluray which holds 50GB, A dual sided disc holds 100gb.
Processor, Ram, GPU, all superior to the 360.

@TT-TWIN, Dude, Microsoft have paid well for this timed exclusive. And so they should – if only to add value to the Xbox live network. IW don’t have any obligation to offer it to all platforms at the same time – but it would be unfair if they only offered it on one platform / an excessive delay.
As to IW / Activision – this makes it obvious that they’re just gonna follow the money. Which is worrying. From @fourzerotwo’s tweets it seems like titles and emblems are part of the DLC… which doesn’t seem too promising either! Shouldn’t they be worrying about map types etc and not titles and emblems that don’t add anything to the gameplay?
My disappointment with this game is gaining strength.
Having said that, I still heart it… a lot.

The only reason i like PS3 better is because ive been using a PS controller for years!! i like xbox too but i prefer my ps3 controller. Specially for FPS games =p all the other differences between the consoles are just b.s. Anyway props to Cr1zby haha.
xbox is **** ps3 has free online gaming and better graphics because all ps3 games are on blue ray disc.the only reason why xbox gets all this **** is because xbox came out first and more people had them so IW went to them first.

@prokennex, It has 7 cores of processing power. Note, processing power. Its hardware is inherently outdated, even at the time of release. So developers use fake special effects to stretch the video card within an inch of its life… But visuals are a matter of opinion. Also, they use entirely different instruction sets, namely ATI and Xbox being easier to understand and develop for. The only thing the PS3 has going for it is the free online and Blu-Ray.

You guys do realize that even though MS might offer a company some cash, the company themselves are the ones who are accepting it. You could probably take that up with them but then you would arguing against something you like.
Whether or not PS3 or 360 gets timed DLC is up to whether or not the developers are willing to take the huge payout. I definitely wouldn’t be calling MS gay or greedy jerks. If I were to blame anyone, it’d be the devs for taking the money.

Why would we game on a PC, so we can deal with all the HACKERS, even Xbox has tons of hackers. I never ran into any of them guys on PS3 yet.
My PC could handle games, I have had 1 or 2 but I perfer a controller than a keyboard.
And even if you guys say the only thing PS3 has is its free online and Blu-Ray, well thats plenty reason to buy one!!! I have 4, 1 in every room with a T.V in my house.

People saying that Microsoft is getting a timed exclusive because their system is superior are just ignorant fan boys. Their is little difference in performance of the systems, they just each require getting used to. The reason Microsoft got the timed exclusive is because they most likely paid a huge sum for it. This makes XBL more valued since it actually requires a paid subscription, unlike PSN which is free.
Again with the whole MLG thing; the 360 came out first and most likely paid for the rights to it, whereas the PS3 came out later and wasn’t making as much money since it wasn’t as ‘mainstream’.

MW2 maps are about the most moronic design ever happened in the history of man, PC community has shrunken to 36,000 players and keep on declining. if those maps were designed by the same meat heads who did the original maps then let’s see how will it go.

@Igniteopt, seriously man, in COD4, you spend most time trading fires, push the line dodging form cover to cover, MW2’s map in contrast is a total disaster, sometimes you spend half min climbing a ladder just to find out there’s a mine or a camper wait for you in the end, and you are still in that dumb climbing animation.
in poorly designed maps such as MW2’s, skill is hardly matter, over complexed structure and 40 degree landscape =/ fun for a shooting game regardless MW2 has probably the shooting mechanic among competitions. MW2 map designers don’t deserver jobs in the first place if you ask me.

Bungie is still pumping out maps for Gaylo 3, I hope IW will put out at least 1 more map pack for COD4.

The fact that Xbox is getting the mappack a month earlier is nice. I think MS just wants paying Xbox Live members to have an advantage(couldn’t think of the right word) because of paid membership.
On the PS3 > Xbox, statistically yes. PS3 is better than Xbox hard-ware wise. The only REAL fault with Xbox is RRoD. Otherwise, the ‘technological advancements’ that Sony implemented are unnoticable. I honestly do not see ANY graphical difference from my Xbox(HDMI, 1080p, top of the line TV) and my friends PS3(same setup).
The only real reason why I have Xbox is because of the online. The online community is more developed and more-well known. I only play games for the online so Xbox is a definite winner there. Also, the paid membership isn’t a big deal, if you can afford the PS3($100 more expensive) then you can spare $7 a month.

Sorry for double-post but, it really doesn’t matter. They both cost a similar price and what you prefer is really personal preference. I’m not gonna lie, I use my Xbox for 95% online gaming and Xbox Live is hands-down, a more developed online community. Plus I’ve been with Xbox since original and I had that instead of a PS2.
PS3 is better if you’re going to watch blu-ray on it all the time(for which I honestly don’t give a **** for, normal DVD is good enough for me).

Okay since we’re having a little console war, i own both, xbox has a better gaming expirience than ps3, yes ps3 is a better console, but if you notice 80% of the ps3 games are only 720P, developers really havent used full ps3 potential. Funny cus all the PS3 owners say that the PS3 is better xbox owners say theirs is better, but I have both! I repeat….. Both! And the PS3 is by far the most superior system! Last thing… For those that claim that the 360 has true 1080p graphics…. ITS NOT TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was never even designed to!! All MS did was stuck an HDMI port in and said, hey! It’s now FULL HD! There’s even tests and YouTube clips to prove that it cannot output full 1080p!!! Or 1080i for that matter…. Whereas the ps3 was designed from bottom to top to be 1080p…. And it is!!!!
Take all this from someone who has both!!! I have 5 other friends with both….. One preferes the 360 plainly cus of the online services, but still claims that the ps3 system is better. And the other 4 prefer the PS3 hands down!!

Ok…. Well, yes and no….. Games….. Same, music, same, video…. PS3, online services…. Xbox, web browsing… Ps3 (duh!) …. Multimedia in general, for me, ps3 hands down. And let’s face it….. The actual ps3 system looks soooooo much nicer….. But maybe that’s just my opinion.
But I’m even selling my 360….. I mean…. The online services are better…. But over all I much prefer my ps3. Besides, the online services are good on that too…. And always getting better….

The PS3 is a superior system in it’s hardware. I myself own a 360 and happen to like it better than the PS3, but the PS3 is in fact a better system and i wish i bought one of them instead of the 360. The only reason that 360 is getting DLC first btw, is because they paid a nice sum of money to IW for a short exclusivity.

I have MW2 in both system including PC i say PC is the best thing out there but this isnt about PC…. I love playing MW2 in xbox live more since i got more friends that own 360 than ps3… too some people they all think is graphics here and there yes it matter but too some people its the fun factor…..I recently bought MAG for PS3 and i took it back to the store i just thought the game wasnt going to beat the fun factor of playing MW2 IMO….
