Modern Warfare 2 Killstreak Rewards
Have you ever had a 25+ killstreak in a Call of Duty game? Well, if you do so in Modern Warfare 2 you could be rewarded with a Tactical Nuke! There are plenty of other killstreak rewards to choose from (pick any 3) just in case you don’t reach 25 too often. For those of us that can only dream of hitting such high Killstreaks the Deathstreak Rewards may be worth a look.

My killstreak rewards are currently, 9: Pave Low, 11: Chopper Gunner, and 25: Tactical Nuke. Unfortunately, my Pave Low’s kills aren’t always added to my killstreak count. My question is, why?
Example:
I was just playing a game of Sabotage on Quarry and went on a 9 kill streak, so I called in my Pave Low. After it got 2 kills, and I didn’t receive my Chopper Gunner reward, I proceeded to get 2 more kills with my M16. I then received my Chopper Gunner and got a few kills with that. After my chopper expired, I got a few more kills with my M16, defused a bomb, and then was killed. Before I went on this killing spree, I had 3 kills; when it was over, I had 28 kills. Now, I’m not very good at math, but I’m pretty sure that that is 25 earned kills.
P.S. My highest killstreak, with a working Pave Low, is 24. I went 24-0 in a game of Team Deathmatch on Sub Base. I had the nuke enabled, too. 8{

That’s not true Blake. Some killstreak rewards do add and some don’t. I don’t have a complete list but this I do know.
Pavelow do not. Harrier Strike, Attack Helicopter, Chopper Gunner, AC130 does add to your killstreak.

@John_McClane, Dude, did you read my comment? Sometimes my Pave Low’s kills count towards my killstreak, and sometimes they don’t.
Also, it wouldn’t make sense for Harriers and Attack Helicopters to add to your killstreak if the Pave Low doesn’t.

You cannot use anything you get from a care package or emergency airdrop, you cannot use anything AUTOMATED, ie, harrier, attack helicopter, or sentry gun. You must use killstreak rewards you can CONTROL. Predator missle, Precision airstrike, Chopper gunner or AC-130. They have to be killstreak rewards that you control, nothing can be automated. This is FACT not guessing, which seems to be what all you knuckle heads are doing. Hasnt anyone heard of wikipidia? you are all like the blind leading the blind.

@PedoStyyle, I’ve called in 10 tactical nukes to date and have just got the nuke emblem. Right, these are what do and what don’t count towards your KS, after this, case closed.
-Any care package killstreaks DO NOT count.
-Pred Missle, does count.
-Harrier kills, does count.
-attack heli, does count.
-Pavelow, does not count to your killsteak REWARDS whatever you say Pedo, I’ve been mixed up too.
-Stealth Bomber, does count.
-AC130/Chopper, does count.
-Nuke, does not count as you die and lose your killstreak before recieving your kills.
I hope thats cleared up, how do I suggest calling in a nuke?
I use the following setup if I’m going for a nuke:
Harrier (7), Chopper Gun/AC130 (11), Nuke (25)
Get 7 kills with your weapons to call in a harrier, if your lucky it will get ALL the kills you need for your chopper gunner, if it doesnt finish up for it. If you target the right guys your chopper gunner can devastate and get you the nuke whilst still in the air. If not it will certainly get you a bunch of kills toward your nuke.
Ok thanks. =) If your going for a nuke, don’t use the Pavelow, now I’ve got my 10 nukes in the bag I use Harrier, Pave, Chopper for maximum kills.

@bob, Yeah, I started using that Harrier, Chopper Gunner, and Nuke combination, too; it works pretty damn well. I’m at 9 nukes. I’m not going for the emblem, though, I just like the feeling you get when you hear that nuke alarm…thing…and then you press Right on the D-pad, and the screen turns white, and all the idiot kids accuse you of cheating…it’s a good feeling.

@PedoStyyle, Alright so pavelow counts towards your killstreak but not killstreak rewards. Example: You get a pavelow meaning you have 9 kill streak when you use it u get 6 kills which means ur at 15. Your chopper gunner wont come until u get 2 kills with your machine gun. which means u still need 13 kills until you get a nuke but once you get your nuke you will have a 28 killstreak not 25

You can’t use Killstreak Rewards to add to your kills. It has to be from your gun, your grenade, or your knife.

I have to disagree with blake. “computerized” kills, aka pavelow and attack helicopter, all dont add to the killstreak.
Rewards that let you physically pull the trigger like predators and chopper gunner add to your killstreak.

@Maddoggy 22, you heard right because i’ve done it more than once. what you need to do is wait until you know you can get a kill, call it in, then immediatly kill that person, then the pave low kills will count towards your killstreak rewards

@alex-x, is right, ive since with predator missile and chopper gunner and ac-130 you have to get the kills your self, ive gotten multiple nukes from chopper gunner. a main reason this is, is because when in a gunner or missile you have no control of your player, you can be shot or killed while in your kill streak, with harrier, etc. you can rack up kill while you kill streak does to

@Blake, Not always true. For example: Put on Harrier at 7 and Pave low at 9. Get 7, call in the harrier, then just sit in a corner. When the harrier gets two kills the pavelow will be ready. Not sure which killstreak rewards count towards the next killstreak reward (Say that ten times fast!) but I KNOW at least the harrier does count.

@Mike, Pavelows count towards your killstreak, but not towards your killstreak rewards. So if you have a chopper gunner or something you won’t get it, but you will still have that kill streak going on.

I’m pretty sure all killstreak rewards add to your killstreak with the exception of the killstreak rewards obtained from care packages and emergency air drops. I use Harrier strike (7) which lands me usually half the kills i need in order to get my chopper gunner (11) then If I rape with that I can get my nuke (25)so I know Harriers count towards your killstreak which are automated and everything else works too. But if you got a pavelow died and then used it, it wont count towards your killstreak.

The nuke isthe best thing you can get because it will automatically give you a 32 kill streak if you end the game right away. It kills the other team twice which gives you extra points. Also if you get the nuke it will give you additional points for a first nuke. Then it goes to 5 to get the challenge. then it goes ten. Eachh challenge for a nuke gives you 20000 points. I recommend using these three kill streaks (they all add on to your kills) preditor missle, chopper gunner and nuke. I have got 3 nukes so far and I am going to get more.An AC130 is not as good as a chopper gunner because it has a less amount of time and you need to reload. this is my opinion and thank you (im zirr grizz)

SUMONE PLEASE EXLAIN WHY THIS HAPPENED…i got 33 kills and 3 deaths…yet no nuke…i used pavelow but only got about 5 or 6 kills…so wers my nuke? andd even if i did get more with pavelow meanin i didnt get my nuke, i definately did not get 13 kills with it..ie refferring to my stats wer it still says i have a 20 kill streak :@, im pretty pissed, anyone help me out…my rewards are pavelow..harrier..and nuke

@ROB23, At the end you get how many TOTAL kils and deaths you got in the match but the KILL STREAK itself can be less because you got killed in between.
So even though you got 31 total kills, the most kills you got during ONE life was 20. I hope this helps.

I’m positive about this. If you think that youre pavelow got you a kill but didnt add onto your streak, then youre wrong. it did.

@Robert_Bowling, Not all rewards give add to your killstreak. The only rewards that add to you kill streak are the ones you get on your laptop for. These include:
preadator missile-5
precision airstrike-5
Harrier strike-7
Stealth Bomber-9
Chopper gunner-11
AC 130-11
These are all the rewards that add to your to your killstreak on the 360, but I do not know if the same rules apply for the PS3.

i presonally know that pavelow chopper gunner nuke combo works fine. i am on my 11th nuke 4 before i prestiged the first time then 7 more this go around im not gonna prestige again until 10 have been reached. so to this i can attest IT WORKS! muahah BTW im playing on PS3 the only way to fly

no. pave low kills only count toward your killstreak if you call in your pave low(without care pkgs) and get a kill with your gun before your pavelow gets a kill. as soon as you get one kill before your pave low, all of the pave low kills will count toward your killstreak

okay some people getting confused. people are talking about kill streak rewards. all killstreaks count towards the killstreak which appears on the leaderboards. but only killstreaks that require you to use your labtop (not from care package)contribute to your next kill streak reward

listen everyone the there are only 2 kill streaks that dont add to your rewards and thats care package and air drop… now this is for PS3 i do not know about other systems but i cann 100% tell you those are the only ones… i know for a fact that they add because i use harrier pav low and chopper gunner… and they all give you kill streak rewards people can disagree all they want but i do know they can cause i get 30 to 50 kill streaks all the time with that setup.. no if people say they dont maybe thats with your game but it has never happened to me.. only care pakage or air drops dont count towards to rewards and your overall kill streak.. EX you kill 7 people and use your harrier.. in time your harrier kills 5 people that gives you your pav low and your chopper gunner.. you then use you chopper gunner lets say on rundown you get up to around 25-35 with that one depending if people are smart and have a setup to take down kill streaks(which is a really good idea once it kills you for the first time) then you call in your pav low which can bring you up to atleast 40-50 kill streak.. people trust me i have a 2.93 ratio and a 67 kill streak.. trust me people it works.. add PSN KR3KRM3 if you want to verify the information provided..but like i said i do not know about xbox or computer if there are issues or not…

@romans27, hi just played afghan my killstreak rewards are, pedator missile, attack helicopter and pavelow, killed 1 then died, killed 5 called in predator missile and got three kills,called in attack helicopter followed by pavelow they did the damage but i only ended the game with 19/1 kill death ratio. in the barracks it still states my killstreak to be only 11 why is this. by the way playing on ps3

Ok, what some of you dont seem to understand is there is a bug in the game. Pave Low SHOULD count toward your killstreak reward (if it was not obtained in a drop), but sometimes it does not. That is the reason the OP posted, that is the reason I googled and ended up here. So everyone saying “I am sure it counts for everything but a reward from a drop”, then you are not reading, and you are just gumming up the Interwebs.

so this has pissed me off. ive read all the things about pavelows not counting but yesterday i got a new killstreak of 33. it updated to 33 and in the level i got 33 and 0.
then this morning in groundwar i got 42 and 1 sniping in afghan. i got my first kill then died, then went on a 41 killstreak. suddenly it hasnt updated. why did my pavelow count yesterday but not today?
i want my freaking 41 killstreak!

I dont really care much about getting the nuke(which kind of defeats the purpose of me being on this forum) but anyway, The pavelow definately does not count on the Xbox360 because i used to use harrier Pavelow and the tactical nuke and have gotten over 24 killstreaks and havent gotten the nuke,now i just use the chopper gunner instead.

If you would like to know heartbreak: I went 48-1 on Derailed and did not get a nuke. I ad them enabled. I went 24 kills then got killed by a shotgun then went another 24 kills and the game ended.

all the attacking killstreaks like Airstrike, Stealth, harrier, attack chopper, pavelow , chopper gunner, and ac130 all count towards your killstreak and can gain your next killstreak award as long as you dont die,

Only once when i was playing Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 I had an emergency airdrop and i got a Sentry Gun, Harrier Strike, Predater missle and a TACTICAL NUKE. I was so amazed of how i got it so i hope i get it again cause my killstreaks that i choose are:

The Pavelow will only add to your killstreak if you have not died, meaning that if you die once in the match the Pavelow kills will not be counted.

the pavelow is ok but it can be shot down from any rocket launchers, it cant give u killstreaks but its awsome to distract other players because they know they could get killed.

the most i would prefer for more than 10 killstreaks is ether the AC130 or a chopper gunner because u can control them and its a whole lot easier but make sure u get the ones in buildings next to the window cause they might have the rocket launchers aiming right at u so kill, kill, kill!!! and make your way to the the tactical nuke and GAME OVER.

Here is a ultimate way to destroy people:
Have an AK-47 with heartbeat sensor,and a Tactical scope.
(must have perk were it allows u to have 2 things attach to your gun)
Have a Stinger as your secondary weapon.
Sticky Grenades.
Hardline Pro (PERK)
and last but not least YOUR FAVORITE KILLSTREAKS

@jonesey, Actually in a Care Package you can get any killstreak other than a nuke. The percentage for a nuke is 0%. so don’t hope for it. I did, never came in like 72 emergency airdrops.

Guys, stop whining about Pavelows, I can’t remember who the guy was that was awesomely proud of his ten nukes, and tryed to be pro by giving advice, which obviously was wrong.
The Pavelow killstreak count is a glitch, when you call in your Pavelow and get a kill before the Pavelow does, it will count, however if you won’t, it won’t.
Also if you have died before, and you get it (9-1) it won’t count either.
Nukes as a matter of fact DO count toward your killstreak, it just depends on your position on the map, some people get killed earlier than yourself, they will count for your killstreaks.My favorite setup for a nuke would be either Harrier-Chopper-Nuke or Pave-Chopper-Nuke.
I suggest that you do not use an Ac130 if your going for a nuke.
For those wondering I’ve gotten 20+ nuke..stopped counting really.
Alot of people are asuming the glitch will be fixed in the next patch, although nothing has been promised.

i was just playing Terminal i got a 9 kill streak and it went out and got to kills but i wa not rewarded with my chopper gunner so i went out and got 2 kills with my gun and recieved my choppergunner then i get over 10 kill with this and my pavelow got me 8 at the end of the match i finished with 31-0 Yet i was not rewarded with my Tactical Nuke … i Think this is a really annoying thing and needs to be sorted out on the game

hey everyone its me again and i got another TIP for you, IF YOU THINK THAT A PAVELOW WILL COUNT AS A KILL FOR YOUR KILLSTREAK WELL ITS UNKNOWN SOMETIMES IT DOES OR DOESN’T SO JUST DONT USE THE PAVELOW USE THE ATTACK HELICOPTER THEN JUST KILL THE PEOPLE WITH ROCKET LAUNCHERS THEN YOUR OK.

So the Pavelow does add to killstreak bonuses however it is glitched, the easiest thing I have found is if your Pave isn’t adding to your killstreak rewards is after the game, go in and clear all your killstreaks and then reselect them. This has worked for me in the past and I am currently at 4 Nukes, KR= Pavelow, Chopper Gunner, Nuke.

All the killstreak rewards count towards your KILLSTREAK (NOT KILLSTREAK REWARDS). Killstreak rewards you get from CARE PACKAGES AND EMERGENCY AIR DROPS DONT COUNT TOWARDS YOUR KILLSTREAK REWARDS. There’s a glitch with the pavelows so there kills won’t count towards your KILLSTREAK REWARDS unless you kill someone before it does. EVERYTHING ELSE counts towards both your KILLSTREAKS and KILLSTREAK REWARDS.

My problem is with care packages, sentry guns, and emergency air drops. After I get the right amount of kills, I receive the reward but I can’t call them in. All it says across the top of my screen is “no equipment available”.

Well i think that Pavelows should count towards everything but nuke, just a suggestion tho.

I’d just like to know, it works for my friends but not for me, ex: I have pred, heli attack, and ac130, I get 5 kills and then use my pred, if I get two kills I should get the heli attack witch is at 7 kills, but I don’t. None of my killstreak rewards counts. any help?

PAVELOW+CHOPPER GUNNER=NUKE! AND YES PAVELOW DOES COUNT TOWARD YOUR KILLSTREAK. PAVELOW GIVES ME A CHOPPER GUNNER = RAPE. PLAY THE REST OF THE GAME AFTER ACQUIRING NUKE UNTIL THE SCORE IS ABOUT OVER AND THEN CALL IT IN. NO BOOSTING REQUIRED!

Question? If you get a kill streak reward Chopper Gunner lets say but you die before you use the chopper gunner your kill streak ends. So when I respawn and use the chopper gunner does it count towards the new kill streak?
