I thinking along the same lines as Grim Joker.I think maybe Ghost might be Riley and that Riley is ‘dead’ and he is now Ghost.He’s just talking about himself in the third person.I did think that it was maybe Gaz from MW1 and that he had somehow survived like a lot of people thought and that he just wears the mask to hide his scars since both are being voiced by the same actor.

Gaz is indeed dead, he might not’ve been killed by the shot itself, but even if he didn’t, he would’ve died of blood loss.
Just look at all the blood, he lost too much to be still alive.

@Dane, i just commented above…but in mw2 the begginging of campaign it says revenge is like a ghost and shows gaz getting shot…and at a couple times the subtitles price says ghost but he really says gaz without the subtitles

Ye that’s why now i’m pretty sure it’s not him.I mena it would be impossible to survive a point black shot to the head with a desert eagle.I know people want to believe he is still alive and i was one of them but we all need to face the fact that he is dead.If he’s not then i will lose faith IW cos the games would lose their realism then.Plus check out the close ups of Ghost on page 2 and Riley on page 4.They have identical features same eyebrows and same eyes.It’s gotta be Riley.Maybe the backstory connection between Soap and Ghost is both of them served together before joining the SAS or both of them passed selection together.

@Ringking, Yes but the people who get shot in the head and live are usually 9mm or .22long rounds, the gun he was shot with was a .50 cal short from a desert eagel, no onecan survive one of those , just getting back from afganistan iv seen the damage they do, trust me gaz is deaad, the bullet would have started to expand the moment it went in and would have taken out the other side of his head

I think ghost is Gaz from MW1, they’re voiced by the same actor and i don’t think Infinity Ward would use him again if they ween’t trying to hint to the audience. Even though he was shot in the head, it may not have hit the brain and he may have survived. That explains why he wears a mask because a shot to the head would leave an unsightly mark.

Okay, this debate needs to stop, now. Gaz was on the bridge at the end of CoD4 and was shot point blank with a Desert Eagle. Now the bullet seemed like it grazed the back of his head, but at the angle he shot, if somehow the blood loss didn’t kill him, the bullet also drove into the top of his spine, which is well enough on its own to kill him, and if it didn’t, he’d be parylized for life. That alone means it’s impossible for them to be the same person. I believe the term “Revenge is like a ghost” was used at that particular time, because Price’s right hand man and Soap’s friend just died in front of them, making them lust for revenge, see the connection? Also, it’s stated that during the events of CoD4, Gaz was about 35 and during MW2, Ghost was about 32, which means during CoD4, Ghost had to have been 27 or 26. Gaz is dead, he was awesome, but you’ve gotta face the facts. Sorry people.

In an Interview with IGN Robert Bowling was asked if there is a possibility that Ghost is still alive and he stated “Ghost… isn’t exactly dead… but you’ll see what I mean soon.

there is no stated ages in either games of mw1 or mw2
doesnt matter what anyone thinks about gaz/ghost scenario, infinity ward will no doubt reveal it in mw3 or probably for all the fan boys who so want ghost to actually be gaz, they will make it so
when i played on veteran on both games i must have died twice per level yet i still went back to the check points every time, its a game which is not determined by real world physics

When Roach and Ghost are killed, Ghost gets shot in the stomach, and only Roach gets burned. Robert Bowling revealed that Ghost still lives on to fight again. I think Gaz is Ghost for most of the reasons above and the fact that they both have a funny eye and when the bit with Shephard he yells G A Z ! ! ! !

Okay I’ll throw in my 25c (I say 25 because I want it to matter more then 2)
Look, I agree this does need to end, but it won’t end with you people who keep saying (Come on lets face facts) because this game is a GAME! Roach survived: Being hit directly by a Mortar, Being shot in the gut by a .44 Magnum, then finally died after being lit on fire. Soap has survived a ****load too (Boat Crash, Stab to the chest, Kick to the face) all around the same time as well as a blow to the head against a car. Lets not forget he survived the explosion and we all thought price was dead too at the end of MW1. How many times in the Call of Duty series have the characters survived the impossible?
Yes, Gaz was shot in the back of the head with a Desert ****ing Eagle, a gun that would rip him in half, but what about Zachaev who was shot confirmed by a .50 Cal? I’m on the side that Gaz is Ghost, here are some of the reason’s I agree with and saw myself.
-Same Voice Actor (but thats common)
-Works with Soap
-He uses a gun similar to the G36c which is the gun that Gaz always used.
-A High up in the Task Force
-Price did call him Gaz, but it looked like Ghost (in the subtitles, come on you don’t just hear what you want to hear if you listen he says Gaz)
-The Mask is a clue, he always wear’s the mask or something to cover his face (during SEALS op)
-He leads the Multiplayer and Spec Ops mission’s, same as Gaz.
These are just a few, look at the facts? What facts? Its a video game! If your shot in real life your gonna go down, your not gonna start having blood build up in your eyes, even on Veteran its not fully realistic. Gaz is cool, but thats not why he’s alive, its because him (just like Soap and Price) is a main character of Infinity Ward.
Thats my opinion, agree or deny it, but just stop the pointless arguement.

Well the truth is that I believe that Zakhaev was not looking when he shot gaz (from the memory) but before Zak kills him Gaz is a smart guy and moved his head so when he got shot he would live. And where was Ghost in mw1 if it was gaz! Is there any logical explination that Ghost was like the best shooter on the team….something to ponder upon.
