Modern Warfare 2 Deathstreak Rewards
There’s a whole host of Killstreak rewards available for people that rock at Modern Warfare 2′s multiplayer, you can even get a Nuke if you are good enough! But what about those of us that suck? Well you get rewarded when you die multiple times without getting a kill in the form of Deathstreak Rewards. Here are the Deathstreak Rewards you have to chose from.

You can’t crawl in Last Stand.
If you stay alive long enough in Final Stand you come back to life.

@Spryo, So you are saying that camping is skillful. Tactical maybe, but when you just let your right thumb do all the work and don’t even have to use near half the controller that isn’t a skillful (and in my opinion honorable) kill. Setting someone up for the camp that takes skill, and respectable like a bait tactic, but your style implies waiting at one spot acting like an idiot and disregarding the battlefield around you and waiting to pull the trigger, because you already have your sights aimed down.

I was thinking this also, but if you only get marty one life every four deaths I dont think it will be that bad. The same with final stand, so someone gets it every fourth death (in a row mind you) It will be rare. Most people can get a lucky kill before they die three plus times. Heck just grab a tube and start launching nades if you have to…

@Auptyk, Hmmm. With the deathstreaks, you are saying that you get painkiller (for example) only every 3 deaths in a row. So, if you die 3 times, get painkiller, but die again, you have to wait until you die 3 more times (making it 6 in a row), before you can get painkiller again? This seems logical, but I was thinking that after the 3 deaths (or however many is required for the certain deathstreak), you will continue to have your deathstreak until you get a kill. So, lets say I have died 3 times, have painkiller, but you kill me a fourth time. I will still have painkiller until I break my deathstreak. Has there been any official proof on this matter?

this game looks tight, i really dont like the ideas of death streaks, although they may be helpful, IW really needs to encourage the players to be better, not really just to get a painkiller so they can pull somethin off every once in a while… and the Copycat thing is pretty sketchy, doesnt seem all that helpful. but ionno it looks cool and im psyched for the Spec Ops mode

How the hell can you abuse deathstreaks? If a person can’t kill anyone while dying 3-4, he must be pretty bad in the first place. A person who has got 4 deathstreaks in a game has had to die 16 times without getting any kills. Do those players have any chance abusing anything at all? Lol.
Descent players don’t need to use deathstreaks unless they are extremly unlucky. Players like me *cough* will use killstreaks like stealth bomber and AC-130.
Everyone moaning about the deathstreaks should stfu. Be more considered about the perk like scavanger. I can imagine it will be populare among the noobtubers and FAGS(as implied by IW) who love chucking random frags all over the map. Skill-less scrubs.

Meaning that you wont have to wait for four more deaths if you keep dying its there until you break the streak. But even still, what kind of dumbass will die on purpose 4 times in a row just to get a deathstreak reward? No is that stupid.

I agree. They wont be abused, but what will be abused is the overkill of rifle grenades and killstreaks.
Let me tell you first-hand that it is very easy for a good player to get killed 3 times in a row by someone elses chopper, especially when you spawn in open territory. At least something like painkiller will give you a chance to get to some cover.

Yes, and that’s a fair situation for using that deathstreak.
It seems like you have the game, how does a killstreaks work?
Do I have to kill 11 players myself to get the AC-130 or will the kills from the other killstreaks count? For example: I kill 7 people myself, Predator missile gets me 1 kill and chopper gets me 3 = AC-130.
That would be hella sweet, but way too easy.

@Ghost, Only the kills that you directly earn will count towards your streaking. Otherwise you would have a nuke in no time.
In other words, you cannot use a chopper to earn you the extra kills you need to get you the next killstreak reward.
I was pleased to discover that since in the previous COD someone could get dogs or a chopper and just have it earn them another streak if they simply died before using it.
However, you can stack these killstreaks so you could literally have a UAV, Predator, Pave low, AC130, and nuke all waiting for you to unleash them.
They go in the order in which you received them so if the last reward you earned was an ac130 then you will have to use that first, then the previous like a care package, then a predator, then a UAV etc.
You cannot have multiple choppers in the air at the same time, but you can have a chopper, stealth bomber, AC130, and airstrike all going at the same time.

I think it really takes the fun out of the game the way they have done it since it will be a non-stop barrage of everything but bullets.
I thought the whole point of multiplayer was kind of like hide and go seek where you actually find people and not just blow up random areas and get chance kills.
I would say that I’ll stick to hardcore free-for-all but it looks like they chose to leave that option out, so I will be forced to just play free-for-all.
I probably wont be able to play TDM since there is always, at least, one person camping somewhere getting large streaks while his/her team goes out and distracts those (me) trying to kill them.
If people complained about noob-tubes before they will, without question, hate all the killstreaks you can get now.

Stacking killstreaks is also good news, I remember all the times in COD4 where I lost my airstrikes, no time to call it in beacause of too much heat, eventhough I lost my airstrike to the chopper it still was a bit annoying.

Anybody knows how the EMP works? How long does it last, I’m guessing it brings down all airsupport?
And also, will you be able to get the tactical nuke with the carepackage? That would be lame.

The EMP knocks out everything electronic. All UAV’s all airstrikes, all helicopters, everything.
I dont know if the nuke is in the care packages, I have had several dropped and not yet got the nuke from it. So it would seem like if it is available it is very very rare.

one of the best killstreaks is the harrier it drops an airstrike then one of the harriers stays and hovers and starts shooting people like a heli its badass

@andrew, The campaign is great, the spec-ops are OK and the multi just needs to be toned down with all the kill streaks.
The skill level went through the floor with the MP (IMO)

I mean some loser can now have last stand pro and throw his grenades or tactical insertions around…YAY how GAY… and if he fails at last stand multiple times he gets to use his guns as well (final stand)…AWESOME
