Modern Warfare 2 NVG’s Made In China

It seems that just about everything is ‘made in China’ now a days, the night vision goggles included in the Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition being no exception.

Recently a worker in a Chinese toy factory happened to recognize that what they are producing is the Modern Warfare 2 Night Vision Goggles which will come with the Prestige Edition of Modern Warfare 2. Being a Call of Duty fan himself he decided to take a few snaps.

Anyone over 18 and thinking that these are going to be really nice is a fool, in my opinion. The fact that they’re made in china really doesn’t mean anything since most of our electronics are probably produced there. I think the NVG’s will be okay, remember you’re only paying $150 not just for the goggles but also everything else that comes in the box. And remember, you can already buy NVG’s for $70: http://www.amazon.com/EyeClops-Vision-Infrared-Stealth-Goggles/dp/B00153F5QA

these will work as well as, but not better than, those I’d predict. That being said, the ratings for the eyeclops aren’t horrible.

well…”Chinese Noodles” is one of my friend, and according to his imformation that this night vision is not made by military standard and the factory are not requested to make it by military standard, which is said all players can get is a toy that can only see the tings not far from you in the night

i didnt get the prestige so i could see in the dark i got it for the whole thing. it doesnt say you get night vision goggles and a free game. i love cod and i wanted the whole package. the night vision goggles will set on the head in my office. IW doesnt sell night vision they did it for the people that play the game day after day waiting for mw2. if you thought you were getting a kick ass pair of night vision goggles that would make marines jealous well your a tool and you should kill yourself. no seriously go kill yourself. they did it for the cod fans!

I am deeply sorry, but I actually live in China, and almost everything that they ship to the US is in fantastic condition to be honest. When you account for all of the things in your house it really becomes noticeable. The stuff made here for the Chinese is not so sturdy though. I would have to admit, because if any of you know of the Shanghai World Financial Center, the building that has a kind of square at the top of it, thy were on bamboo scaffolding nearly 100 stories up (almost 1300 feet). Bamboo is strong, but not as strong as steel.

  40. sandman says:

Nobody seems to be asking the main questions about these goggles: What tech do they use, GEN I? Absolutely not GEN II or III. Those are expensive passive systems, gathering ambiant light and amplyfing it. More like Sony Nightshot tech, based on active night vision, what Sony uses in their cameras and camcorders, where you need an IR light source for illumination. If so, what is the distance and settings of the Infra red light arrays? is the lens ground glass or plastic? Is the lens 1X (unity) or does it magnify? Magnify not good, screws with depth perception. Can’t walk while viewing through a telephoto lens without serious loss of depth of field. Military goggles and monoculars are unity, no power. I realize these are a cheap toy, but it would be interesting to find out some facts.
