Latest Modern Warfare 2 Patch Finally Available For Xbox
Care Package Patch
After already being refused once, the latest patch for Modern Warfare 2 was finally cleared by Microsoft earlier today, so things should be a lot better now in terms of exploits and glitches. Although it doesn’t address games dropping and lag/connection or party issues it does fix the games major problems.
- Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry Gun marker grenades sprint speed normalized.
- Fix for “infinite care package” exploit.
- Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection, preventing cases of Sentry Guns inside geometry.
- Model 1887: Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination now has same range and damage as non-Bling Model 1887s.
- Fixes to prevent various XP hacks (including the prevention of negative XP)

@RPG, that doesn’t explain why I have to spawn exactly where a predator missle is landing, or where an air strike is hitting, or exactly where someone is already shooting. It’s rediculous. Halo has so many systems that prevent things like this. Like not spawing someone in another persons line of site, to spawn areas that detect if an enemy is near a potential spawn point before it decides to spawn you there. Why can’t IW do something like that? The same reason they were on record as saying that they would not include a Halo like theater feature because they didn’t want to wast time and resorces on something not many people would use. Not many people would use!!!!??? They are dillusional! This developer can’t take a step back and look at the things other developers do better and let that help their own game. It’s the same reason WAW let you back your party out when you’re leader, and MW2 doesn’t. I’m quickly loosing faith in IW. I cannot WAIT for Halo Reach. I’ll probably sell MW2 towards it.

Please, f**k off. Before the game was relased Robert Bowlig(IW) said that the spawn system would be better than COD4. After playing the game I was frustrated to find out that it’s even worse than COD4, even COD:WOW has a better spawn system. Usually a sequel to an enormously popular game will improve stuff like for example the spawn system, but in MW2′s case they have taken a step back.
I understand that making a good spawn system can be extremly difficult, but theres no excuse for why MW2′s spawn system is worse than COD4. Stop being a little fanboy and open your eyes. Don’t make up lame excuses because your biggest dream is to suck Robert Bowlings cock while wearing your Prestige Edition “night vision goggles”.

@admin and @paradox, That’s true of the ps3 still, but not true for the 360. The same fix that went into the ps3 was GOING to go into the 360, but IW pulled that and implemented this fix that took care of the stun/flash grenade to do this glitch. I confirmed it myself. You can still try to do it and will get a second icon to call in a care package/sentry gun/emergency drop, but you won’t actually get it. You’ll just get the points for call it.

Yeah, already seen a few people using another Care Package glitch. Had two tonight in a free for all game.
Care Package sprint speed seems fine. Sure the others are too.
Now they just need to sort out spawns and being shot behind bullet proof protection by guns without FMJ and all the other stupid problems and we might have a decent game.

@Nuclearjoe, Firing one 10 gauge shotgun with two hands will make your hands bleed. Firing two in each hand will rip off your arms. I think that IW should rather replace the 1887s with a different shotgun, or take them out and spread out the shotgun acquirment levels a bit IMO.

Being good at it. @(insert every spawn whiner’s name here) The spawning works just like any other spawn, you spawn where the game thinks you’re safe. You know why it’s hard to make a decent spawn point? because it’s f**king fast-paced. Spots get taken over instantly, the game shifts in a snap. The reason it was easy for halo was the slower pace to the dying process. Shields on top of a bit of stamina. Don’t like how you’re spawning in TD because the teammates aren’t good? Then find better teammates, or get good at FFA. Better yet, just get good.

people are STILL glitching big time after this patch.. unbelievebale, I understand that the things they have patched have been quite important glitches but how can you not class getting inside teh wall on wasteland as a BAD glitch and patch that too?
Last night I played 4 games in wasteland, in every game 4 different people wall broke into the wall in the bunker, they had one man army on so could reload their class when out of ammo. They were totally unkillable in that little hole and had huge kills to death
In the end I just left the games.. I now leave every wasteland game and refuse to play that map >:(
Come on IW, you must know about this glitch, everyone else seems to know about it and vids of this have been on you tube for a month or 2. It cant be hard to change the geometry of that corner that people breach, other wall breaches get fixed so I cant believe that wasnt included in this patch

Just a head’s up. 1.09 came out last night on PS3. The only thing I can think it did was fix the second care package glitch. It also seemed to cause more issues regarding parties getting into games. In 1 hour, we got 2, MAYBE 3 games in.

i love MW2. i have not played any Xbox title online nearly as much as i’ve played MW2 and despite the glitches and what not, its still a lot of fun playing with a good group of people. stop b***hing and complaining and when you see someone modding/hacking ie cheating report them. save their gamertag and see what you can do with it. all in all…….stop complaining. if you don’t like it go make your own first person shooter that breaks all records for video game releases.

bahaha mw2 just got worse, people have hacked the new camos (gold, red cheetah, blue cheetah, platnum) and also they hacked custom classes so they can have 3 guns 4 perks, by instead of using grenades they use the guns/perks. this is on xbox btw i dunno about ps3 prob the same tho, oh and gold desert eagle looks pretty cool…
