For me this raises some interesting doubts about the quality of the goggles. Sounds like it's a tacit statement that they aren't worth much, or at least they aren't even remotely considered worthy of a serious societal threat. Based on the quick math that I'm seeing done on the Internet about the potential cost of these things when you factor in expenses of the other contents, they don't seem to be all that hot.
