First MW2 Map Pack Hits XBL March 30
After yesterdays news from 402 that we would be getting “a lot of Modern Warfare 2 DLC news this week” we already have the first and most exciting piece of news.
In the latest tweet from the Infinity Ward community manager there is confirmation that the first Modern Warfare 2 map pack will be released in just three short weeks, on MARCH 30 2010……..

No mention of its name or what it’s comprised of, but as the date is merely weeks away, details will likely arrive very, very soon (screenshots FTW.) Oh, At this point I should probably remind PS3 users that the MW2 map pack will be available on the PSN one month later.

@me, Yeah right! The PSN free service is so great! How’s that working out for you after this past week? I’d rather pay for a dependable service then to have it crash on me one day out of the blue. You PS3 fan boys can yuck it up for 30 days while we (Xbox 360 users) play the new maps on a service we gladly pay for.

i love that if we’re PS3 users we’re fanboys… 24 hours later PSN fixed the problem and everything is perfect. if i do recall xbox live had the same issue a while back for an entire week… oh but im sure you all received a check in the mail for lost time right?
i will gladly wait 30 days for the first map pack, let all the nubes find the glitches and have them fixed before we waste our time.

While I’ve been through my fair share of 360s, I haven’t had one die on me in the last 3 years. I’d much rather have less dependable hardware with a great online service, than a decent hardware machine with a so-so online service. Also to all who say that paying for a service sucks or whatever, it’s 3.00 dollars a month for 13 months! If you can’t pay that, put the controller down and get a job.

To put it in perspective, there’s no way PS users are getting different maps than the Xbox users. Xbox folks are just getting the same maps 30 days earlier.
There isn’t ANY beta testing going on. You’ll get the same ones we do.

@Jesse, I know what he’s talking about. Maybe try some reading comprehension next time. I highly doubt IW has the time to find the bugs, attempt to fix them, test it, patch it into the “360 maps” and then release them for the PS3 users within 30 days. I’m no dev, but 30 days isn’t that much time.

I have a PS3 and Xbox i think xbox is better you, don’t get to have parties with people on PS3.
So you have to talk in game chat which sucks especially if there are annoying ass 8 year old’s playing, but i like both systems and Xbox live wasn’t out for a whole week i would have remembered that it was only out for about 12 hours when they brought the new update up. (facebook, Twitter and, Last.fm)
I like both consoles i just prefer playing on Xbox Ive had mine for 2 years and no RROD and yes PS3 has more power in handling games.

It is also heavily rumored PSN will announced a paid online service that supports cross-game chat. I’d safely wager that a good percentage of PSN users will opt for the paid version over the free version to obtain more features.

Thank god there are actually some ps3 people out there. I can wait 30 months because ive had my ps3 for 5 years, and never had a problem. Plus, i plan to use that time to prestige, and possibly play some god of war 3.
