Activision and Infinity Ward have used another sporting event to show their latest trailer, the Modern Warfare 2 Launch Trailer.

The last three Modern Warfare 2 trailers have aired during commercial breaks at live sporting events. In May the first in-game footage was shown at a NBA finals game, later that month the Reveal Trailer debuted at another NBA game. Activision and Infinity Ward switched it up for the Infamy Trailer, using a NFL game to display MW2. Tonight the World Series was the event of choice for the Launch Trailer.

During an ad break in tonight’s World Series game, and South Park on Comedy Central, the last Modern Warfare 2 trailer was shown. Check out the Modern Warfare 2 Launch Trailer below (including the Eminem soundtrack).

Did you notice the space scene at 1:00, what’s that about?

Back in May Infinity Ward and Activision aired the first Modern Warfare 2 Trailer during the NBA play-offs. Following suit the second Modern Warfare 2 Trailer, which marks the start of a multi-million dollar MW2 promotional campaign, has been shown in the commercial break during another sporting event.

Earlier this evening on NBC’s Sunday Night Football broadcast, San Diego Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers fan’s got the first look at the new Modern Warfare 2 Trailer entitled Infamy….. And what an epic trailer it is!

Infinity Ward have just released the second Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer video. It’s called ‘Modern Warfare 2: Flag Runner’ and is unedited footage of a Capture The Flag match.

A lot of new info can be learnt from the video but I’ll run you through the main points. In-game host migration is something i personally wanted for Modern Warfare 2, CONFIRMED! You can now choose to replace your primary grenade with a throwable knife, surprising? CONFIRMED! We also learn that Call-signs are included in a Call of Duty game for the first time. I’m sure we will learn more about that in the near future.

We also see a couple of the new killstreak rewards, after 4 kills you will be rewarded with a “Air Drop”!. You can also earn a “Predator Missile” reward after 5 unanswered kills.

Probably the most important new feature is Dual Attachment’s. If you look closely you will notice that the Kriss Super-V has both red dot sight and a silencer.

AC130 is awesome to control. We mostly only showed off the 40mm, you can also chase guys with the 25mm machine gun and of course fire off a massive 105mm howitzer for a big explosion.

Getting a triple kill with the 40mm is great, but chasing guys with the 24mm machine gun is probably my favorite part.

A excited forum member wanted to know…. Are you vulnerable when you use the AC 130? Can you be killed when you use it?

Yeah, you can be killed. It doesn’t stop the AC130, it just means you have to respawn (and have a death) when you return. So it’s best to get in cover before you pull out the laptop.

While you’re in the AC130 view, you can be shot down also (as attempted in the video).

Does being shot down count as a death though?

No. It’s the same as if a helicopter you called in gets shot down. It doesn’t count as a death.

If you die on the ground while in AC130 view, nothing changes. You stay in AC130 view until either shot down or the time passes. Once that happens, then you’ll respawn (since you died on the ground).

If you don’t die on the ground while in AC130 view, then you’ll just got back to where you were when you opened the laptop and keep playing.

Anyone who comes across you while in AC130 view will see you controlling the AC130 via the laptop and can hurt you. Or my favorite, plant C4 on the laptop so when you return I can let you see me blow you up.

Infinity Ward have shown the full Modern Warfare 2 reveal trailer for the first time at tonight’s Eastern Conference NBA Finals. After two disappointingly short ten second clips shown previously, Modern Warfare 2 fans now have a full two minute trailer to enjoy. Should be enough details to keep the Modern Warfare 2 hype-train rolling for the time being!

GameTrailers TV (GTTV) has shown a exclusive preview of the full Modern Warfare 2 trailer on Spike TV. Again it was another short peice of footage like the commercial at the NBA game last week, but all Modern Warfare 2 news is good news! Here it is ..

Infinity Ward has shown a Modern Warfare 2 commercial during the Celtics vs Magic NBA finals on TNT. It shows some brief gameplay footage and says we can look forward to the Modern Warfare 2 world premiere on MAY 24 at the Eastern Conference Finals where the full trailer will be shown. So the new Call of Duty game Modern Warfare 2 has been anounced by its developer Infinity Ward and is due for release 11.10.09.

Not many details about the much anticipated game has been released yet but there has been alot of speculation over the trailer and the details it hints at.

What is Modern Warfare 2 ?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is an upcoming first-person shooter video game from Infinity Ward for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. Officially announced on February 11, 2009, the game will be published by Activision and is due for release November 10, 2009. Modern Warfare 2 is a sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare which has sold more than 13 million copies. As with its predecessor, the game will be set like the title suggests, in modern times.

Plot

Modern Warfare 2 is set several years after the conclusion of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Sergeant “Soap” MacTavish, promoted to captain in the Special Air Service, returns as a non-playable character and the head of Task Force 141, an elite, multinational commando unit^. The player will take on the role of Sergeant Gary “Roach” Sanderson, a member of the Task Force.

The radical Russian Ultranationalist organization has returned to prominence under the leadership of Vladimir Makarov, a former associate of Imran Zakhaev with his own ambitions. Makarov has publicized Zakhaev’s death as an act of martyrdom to garner support for his cause, enabling him to build a strong power base in Russia over the years. Fearful of Makarov’s growing influence, the global community established Task Force 141 to counter the threat posed by the resurgent Ultranationalists.

Mission settings in Modern Warfare 2 will include Russia, a military base in Kazakhstan, a desert area in Afghanistan, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
