Activision Respond To Shocking Leaked Campaign Footage
Activision go into damage-control mode *SPOILERS*
After putting in copyright claims to ALL of the sites that were hosting the leaked campaign mission video, Activision have released a statement on the shocking events that take place in the airport based terrorist slaughter spree.
“The scene establishes the depth of evil and the cold bloodedness of a rogue Russian villain and his unit. By establishing that evil, it adds to the urgency of the player’s mission to stop them.
Players have the option of skipping over the scene. At the beginning of the game, there are two ‘checkpoints’ where the player is advised that some people may find an upcoming segment disturbing. These checkpoints can’t be disabled.
Modern Warfare 2 is a fantasy action game designed for intense, realistic game play that mirrors real life conflicts, much like epic, action movies. It is appropriately rated 18 for violent scenes, which means it is intended for those who are 18 and older.”

They must be stupid. The game is rated for a MATURE audience and by the ESRB ratings, this is 17+, not 18.
What dumbs**ts.

@Jesse, the game is rated 18 in europe. flexing your flabby internet muscles won’t change the fact the Ricky is 100% correct. nor will waving your malformed genitalia around like you’re some sort of hardman.

I think this guy that is putting out these recent videos and I mean that ONE guy because you can tell its the same person by the way he records his video which have terrible video by the way. He needs to quite that crap because hes not helping anyone by showing us this besides the fact that his videos have terrible resolution it just ruins being suprised when the game comes out.

it sickens me that that douchebag had go and ruin it for all of us who wanted to be suprised…. Activision was right to put this statement out there. I’m glad they put an option to skip over the scene, but I still won’t use it. >:-D

Of all missions to get leaked the most contreversial one gets leaked, that would suck for Activision. I diddn’t see the clip, but too much of a spoiler for me anyways. Really great response though, couldn’t of stated that any better.

I refuse to watch the leaked videos and even though i have been hearing about them a little bit, it’s not going to change the fact that mw2 is going to be epic

Frankly all this talk about controversy is really getting to me.
Instead of forcing developers to make children-friendly games 24/7 they should enforce the 18+ rating and make sure the children not get their hands on these games.
I’m sick and tired of little Brits or little Yanks b***hing on about stuff, on CoD4 multiplayer. There should be software that bans XboX live accounts if it detects high pitched voices from the headset in an 18+ game.
But that’s just me….haha.

@Guy,
I do agree with you, kids can be annoying when you’re trying to play a game and they don’t shut up, but that is what a mute button is for. I do agree with putting age ratings on games, but I think they should be taken as a guideline and that parents should decide what is and what isn’t suitable for their children, although I personally wouldn’t let a child play this game, maybe until they were around 14-15 sort of age.

@Matt, 1. No one force you to play it, Dumbass
2. It rated “M” for 18+ and probably mature
3.You can skip the scene,Moron
4.No one give a s**t! about you whining
5.Shut Up

You see films like Hotel Rwanda which is based on true events (rated 18) and this film has similar scenes but has won accolades.

As we all know we will still here from angry parents about how there 10 year old child is playing a violent game eventhough its for a certain age group. No matter how many precautions they try to take people will still complain.
