Activision Confirms Infinity Ward Shake Up
Activision Confirm IW Dismissals
After all the fuss today about the two studio heads at Infinity Ward being dismissed due to “breaches of contract and insubordination”, Activision has officially confirmed Vince Zampella and Jason West are no longer employed at the award winning development studio.
According to the official announcement big changes are afoot at IW with Activision Publishing chief technology officer Steve Pearce and head of production Steve Ackrich heading up the development house on “an interim basis.” Furthermore, Call of Duty-related business will now be overseen by Philip Earl (now ex-head of Activision’s Asia-Pacific region).
News first broke of the IW shake up early this morning and slowly over the day we have arrived at this official announcement from Activision. While certain confirmation, it still explains little as to the reasons for the firings.

Maybe now we will get a decent Modern Warfare without all the crap glitches/hit boxes and game play. Modern warfare 2 dev team should be shipped off to Siberia and never allowed on a dev team again. Hope battlefield bad company owns this lame game.

@shon, in the end think about it, if activision werent greedy jews and maybe gave IW an extra year to come out lets say if it was to come out this year instead the game wouldve been much better and more quality to it. But no activision is gonna w***e out COD like they did with guitar hero and release a new COD every year because they know anything with that title will sell like crazy. Here is the beginning of the end for good Call of Duty games. It makes me sad
